People who have studied happiness, noticed that the sequence of how to get happy is different from what you think. It is not when you achieve everything you want you get happy. You must be happy first!
And people with some experience of life, they know how to value health before money.
“As long as I am healthy”, people say…….
So, if you are no healthy, and you won’t be healthy, is it possible to be happy?
I know it is possible. I am happy. But sometimes, I am sad for being sick, and I sometimes have to work hard to stay happy.
Mental strategies for happiness
- Control your emotions
- Stop yourself when you are about to fall into the pit of self-pity. (Or at least, get out of there fast).
- Practice gratitude and meditation
I have been a mind coach for a lot of athletes, and I have practised a lot of techniques for myself. I have been attending the Lightning Process, and after that, I took a Master Practitioner degree in Neuro Linguistic Programming in London. This is my fundament. Visualisation, the consciousness of thoughts and language, and focus on the good things are what I try to focus on. This is what we in Norway call “ferskvare” – it needs to be fresh. It like building muscles – you have to maintain them. I had tremendous mental muscles when I went through stem cell transplant, but they have faded.
Will you join med in building mental muscles?
